Just for Charities

This is currently our top bank that we recommend to charities.

It is a charitable organisation that provides services just for charities. They provide current accounts savings accounts and they also provide charities with loans.

One of the many great features of this service provider is that any profit they make is 'reinvested in to the charity Sector'.

SOME OF THE SERVICES THEY PROVIDE:

Instant Access Savings Account
30 Day Notice Account
60 Day Notice Account
90 Day Notice Account
1 Year Fixed Term Account

Charity Bank Is different to your normal sort of bank. Unlike CAF it does not offer current accounts.

Instead Charity Bank only offers savings accounts and loans. Any one can open up a savings account but only charities can use the loans.

OTHEr places THAT OFFER CHARITY ACCOUNTS.

Nat West (as with most of the big banks) provide a charity account along the same lines as there business account.

Nat West do seem to have a very good online platform as well as very good security systems in place. Nat West are also very quick at updating your balances which makes it easy tokeep on top of spending.

With little experience of the Co-operative bank it is difficult to provide an opinion one way or the other.

However we do feel they are more in tune with charities needs than other service providers seem to be. The services seem more relevant to charities and it feels like they are a step removed from the co-operatives business banking side.

SOME OF THE SERVICES THEY PROVIDE:

A full review of you current banking structure and requirements
Flexible banking solutions to meet the needs of your organisation
A range of deposit accounts including instant access and fixed rate deposit accounts
A range of loan finance solutions to meet your borrowing needs
The knowledge and experience of a specialist team, including a dedicated relationship manager

Through personal experience with Lloyds we have felt that they don't understand the differences between charities and business.

The process sounds easy on the website but do not be fooled! It can take a very long time to get set up. they do offer some useful services although Natwest still takes the biscuit with online banking(in our opinion!)

SOME OF THE SERVICES THEY PROVIDE:

Manage your account online and by phone
Enjoy free business banking*, as long as you remain in credit.
Receive no charges on daily debit and credit entries
Open a Treasurers' Account quickly and easily, with no minimum amount required
Withdraw funds as and when needed, without the need to give notice
Arrange to have a second signatory on the account
Easily set up direct debits and standing orders using Internet Banking
